"I have made many friends over the years and have had the opportunity to sing some of the greatest music ever written. There is a wonderful sense of achievement in mastering new music, learning techniques to improve your singing and getting to perform in a great communal endeavour. Then after the performance there’s the applause, the smiling faces and the choir, conductor and orchestra are on a high. Feeling tired and stressed from work, I have often found that after singing for two hours I have felt full of energy having forgotten all the worries of the day." Peter Harney, Bass

Singing in harmony with others is proven to be good for our physical and mental health. Research from the University of Sydney even showed that singing together can alleviate chronic pain. It really is a very powerful transmitter of wellbeing.
We extend a warm welcome to those who want to give choral singing a try! No auditions are required. Although it is helpful if you can read music, we have many ‘absolute beginners’ who build up their skills and confidence with us. You are welcome to come to a few rehearsals without obligation.
We will provide you with support to learn the music at home using digital music files which highlight your ‘note’ during the learning process.
All voices are welcome, though we are always especially keen to welcome tenors and basses. Our annual programme includes at least one major classical work, and we cover a wide range of music, including a Christmas carol concert.
Rehearsals are on Monday evenings between 7.30 and 9.30, at the Dursley Tabernacle from mid-February to mid-December, with a break in August.
